How can you improve the rating of your property?
 
Before you commission an EPC there are certain steps that you can take to improve the energy efficiency and to some degree the rating that your property is given.

Firstly - use energy saving light bulbs wherever possible

Secondly - consider whether you have suitable loft and cavity wall insulation in place. Financial grants can sometimes be available depending on your own financial circumstances

Thirdly - if you have a hot water cylinder check make sure that it is jacketed and that the jacket is fitted correctly
